The Beginning
Do people read blogs anymore? I worry that many may not, opting for the quick hit of reels or Tik-Tok videos over sitting down and reading someone talk about what they’re doing in their life. Yet, here I am, hoping to start sharing about our life and things that the Lord has put on my heart.
I recently re-discovered Blog
Spot (now Blogger) and found that ten years ago, when Jordyn was a baby, I had attempted
to start a blog. I never made it past the initial page set up, but my intentions
were to help other moms, which my now tenured mother-self finds to be an
admirable, albeit hilarious goal.
The Lord has been working on me and my heart for a while and this momma now has been through an amazing number of situations and circumstances in these last 10 years since I made that initial blog. The person I was ten years ago had an entirely different outlook on literally everything that I could possibly share with you today, all the way up to and including my point of view on and relationship with God.
The tug on my heart to share what
we’re doing with our family has only grown as we have changed over the years. Alongside
watching some very sad times in American culture and society, I feel compelled
more than ever to start speaking.
My intention with this blog is to share about what we are doing as a family, with regards to our health and wellness, household and homeschool and faith. Lately, we've been working on projects around our house to restore some sense of function after our recent two child expansion in these last two years. I have been experimenting with a different flow for my homeschool children and planning a month of clean eating for our family in June to reset some of our health and wellness goals. I am looking forward to sharing more about all of these things soon!
Though it may seem like a strange thing to do after starting a blog, I am going to take the next month off social media. I find it necessary sometimes to just detox and restore my mind. I’m hoping I will find sometime to write in the cracks of my day that I have been spending mindlessly scrolling the social media rabbit hole and that when I return, I will feel refreshed with new insights and things to share.
I am excited to see where this goes,
I’m trusting the Lord and I’m not going to worry too much about where the fruit
falls 😊
With Love,
Kaley
